North Geelong Magpies Banners - Celebrating 150 Years of Proud Football Heritage

As one of Victoria's oldest and most storied football clubs, the North Geelong Magpies deserve a banner worthy of their tradition. FootyBanners.com creates custom banners for players, families, and supporters to mark every special occasion in the Magpies' story.

Simple to Order

Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options. Provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Michael Brennan, #22, 150 Games. Your banner is printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty, weatherproof paper ready for a bitter Melbourne winter at Osborne Park.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Magpies reach milestones in the same game, our Two Player Banner honours both achievements on one quality banner. Just supply each player's name and guernsey number and we'll handle the rest.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Featuring 3 to 6 players, the Team Banner option is perfect for end-of-season nights and group presentations. A top-line message like "North Geelong Magpies - Pride of the Nest" sets the tone beautifully. A fantastic way to celebrate your whole squad.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks. A keepsake that looks at home in the Magpies clubrooms or on a supporter's wall - a lasting tribute to a proud club.

Grand Final Banners

Our Grand Final Banners come in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes, fully customised with your top and bottom text for the North Geelong Magpies. Contact us for design advice and we'll help make your grand final banner unforgettable.

About North Geelong Football and Netball Club

Origins and Founding

The North Geelong Football and Netball Club was founded in 1876, making it one of the oldest Australian rules football clubs in Victoria. Competing under the Magpies nickname, the club has been a defining institution in the North Geelong community for 150 years. The club is affiliated with the Geelong and District Football League (GDFL) for senior football and operates alongside a thriving netball program.

Club History

The Magpies have been one of the most successful clubs in the GDFL, winning 18 senior premierships. The club's golden era came during the 1950s, when it won seven consecutive premierships from 1949 to 1955 - one of the most dominant stretches in regional Victorian football history. Further senior premierships followed in 1958, 1968, 1969, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1993, 2002, 2013, and most recently in 2025. The 1992 premiership was built on the outstanding form of Branko Culina, winner of the Gold Medal as the competition's best player that year. The club has also produced numerous VFL and AFL players over the decades, including Andrew Bews and Marc Dragicevic. The women's program has been equally successful, winning AFL Goldfields Women's titles in 2017 and AFL Barwon Women's premierships in both 2018 and 2019.

Home Ground

The Magpies play at Osborne Park, located on Swinburne Street, North Geelong. The Osborne Park Precinct is a well-established sporting hub in the northern suburbs of Geelong, providing facilities for the senior football, reserves, under-18s, and netball sections of the club. The ground has hosted Magpies home games for generations and remains a central part of the club's identity.

Community and Programs

North Geelong fields teams across all levels, from junior football to senior and women's competition. The club's junior programs provide a pathway from grassroots football through to the GDFL senior ranks, and have produced players who have gone on to represent Geelong region sides at state level. The club's netball arm competes actively in the Geelong region and draws strong participation from local families.

North Geelong

North Geelong is an inner suburb of Geelong, located approximately 70 kilometres south-west of Melbourne's CBD. Once a hub of industrial activity linked to Geelong's manufacturing history, the area has evolved into a mixed residential and commercial community. The suburb is known for its accessible location near Corio Bay, the Princes Freeway, and the North Geelong railway station, and sits within the City of Greater Geelong, Victoria's second-largest city.

The Magpies compete in the Geelong and District Football League and call Osborne Park home. Visit the club website for more information, follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for match day updates.

    📄 Material & Construction

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    • Eco-friendly & Recyclable: All banners are fully recyclable when the celebration is over.

    • Durable weatherproof sports banners printed on heavy-duty coated paper - these banners are not made of crepe paper.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
