All banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty paper, designed to last through a cold Melbourne winter on the sideline.
Two Players, One Banner
Two Oak Park players reaching the same milestone together? Our Two Player banner lets you celebrate them both on one banner. Just provide both names and guernsey numbers for a quality banner that marks the shared occasion.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Our Team Banner accommodates 3 to 6 players celebrating together. Try a top-line message like "Oak Park United!" and add a closing tagline that reflects the spirit of Oak Park football. Perfect for group milestones and season-end celebrations.

About Oak Park
Origins and Founding
The Oak Park Football Club, known as the Kangaroos, was established in 1957 when an Under 15 team was fielded in a local junior league from the north-western Melbourne suburb of Oak Park. The club was admitted to the Essendon District Football League (EDFL) in 1960, fielding a B Grade senior team, with junior teams following in 1962 and a reserves side added in 1964. Originally the club adopted Richmond Football Club's colours before switching to blue and white in 1961, borrowing a set of jumpers from North Melbourne - the colours that have defined Oak Park's identity ever since.
Club History
Oak Park has won well over twenty premierships across all grades throughout its EDFL history. The club built its reputation as a B Grade powerhouse through the 1970s and 1980s, and has since firmly established itself as an A Grade contender, winning consecutive A Grade flags in 2002 and 2003. The Kangaroos were grand final runners-up in 2011 to rivals Strathmore in a memorable low-scoring contest. Notable alumni include Wayne Harmes (Carlton), David Rodan (Richmond and Port Adelaide), and Jake Melksham (Essendon), who all progressed from Oak Park to AFL careers.
Home Ground
Oak Park play at John Pascoe Fawkner Reserve on Francis Street in Oak Park, their home ground for the club's entire history. The reserve is part of the Oak Park Community Sports Association precinct and also hosts cricket and other sporting activities. Named after John Pascoe Fawkner - one of Melbourne's founding figures - the ground has been the scene of countless EDFL contests across senior, reserves, and junior grades.
Community and Programs
As part of the Oak Park Community Sports Association, the football club operates alongside cricket and other sports under a shared governance structure. The club fields senior men's, reserves, and multiple junior age-group teams, and has developed a strong women's program as part of the EDFL women's competition. Community events and club nights at the JP Fawkner Reserve are a fixture of the Oak Park sporting calendar.
Oak Park
Oak Park is a residential suburb in Melbourne's inner north-west, located 11 kilometres from the CBD in the City of Moreland. With a population of 6,714 at the 2021 census, it is a well-established suburb bordered by Pascoe Vale, Glenroy, and Hadfield. The suburb features broad streets, family homes, and convenient access to the Upfield train line and major shopping along Pascoe Vale Road. Oak Park has a distinctly community-oriented character that has sustained the football club across seven decades.
The Kangaroos compete in the Essendon District Football League and call John Pascoe Fawkner Reserve home. Follow them on Facebook and follow them on Instagram for news and match-day updates.

-
-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
