About Queanbeyan Kangaroos Football Club
Origins and Founding
The Queanbeyan Kangaroos Football Club was established in 1966 in Queanbeyan, New South Wales, a city situated immediately east of Canberra on the New South Wales side of the ACT border. The Roos were formed to give the Queanbeyan community its own Australian rules football identity within the growing Canberra region football competition. The club's early years saw it competing in a competition that would eventually become AFL Canberra, one of Australia's most distinctive football competitions drawing clubs from both the Australian Capital Territory and the surrounding New South Wales region. Queanbeyan and Canberra have long shared sporting and community ties, with the Kangaroos playing an important role in fostering the game on the NSW side of the border.
Club History
Since 1966, the Queanbeyan Kangaroos have built a strong record in the AFL Canberra competition, claiming 8 senior premierships across their history. The Roos have consistently been one of the competition's more competitive clubs, regularly featuring in finals and providing a developmental pathway for players from the Queanbeyan area who might not otherwise have access to the capital's broader football community. AFL Canberra is a unique competition that includes clubs from both the ACT and surrounding NSW, and the Kangaroos are among the clubs that give the competition its cross-border character. The club has competed at Seears Workwear Oval for many years, building a strong home-ground advantage in the Queanbeyan community.
Home Ground
The Queanbeyan Kangaroos play their home matches at Seears Workwear Oval in Queanbeyan, a well-maintained community ground that serves as the focal point of the club's operations throughout the season. Seears Workwear Oval provides facilities for training, home games, and club social activities, and its naming reflects the club's partnership with local business sponsors. The ground is centrally located within Queanbeyan's sporting precinct and is accessible to supporters from across the ACT and Queanbeyan region.
Community and Programs
The Queanbeyan Kangaroos field senior men's and women's teams as well as junior sides, providing a full football pathway for the Queanbeyan community. The club's junior program feeds into the senior ranks and has helped sustain the club's competitive edge over nearly six decades of competition. The Roos are an important community institution in Queanbeyan, providing local residents with a connection to Australian rules football and a social community that extends well beyond the football season. AFL Canberra's competition structure also enables the club to participate in representative football, with Queanbeyan players regularly representing the ACT and Capital Region at state level.
Queanbeyan
Queanbeyan is a city in New South Wales situated on the Queanbeyan River, directly adjacent to the eastern border of the Australian Capital Territory. With a population of approximately 45,000 people, Queanbeyan is the largest city in the Capital Region and is effectively a satellite city of Canberra, with many residents commuting to work in the national capital. The city has a history dating back to the 1820s when it was one of the earliest European settlements in the region. Queanbeyan is administered by the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council and is known for its distinctive community identity that sets it apart from the planned capital city environment of Canberra immediately to its west.

Footy Banner Information
Material: All Footy Banners are printed on 1.6 Metre high coated paper using permanent inks which will not run, even if they get wet. They are fully recyclable.
How to Use: We recommend taping broomsticks or plastic pipe to the ends of the banner to hold it flat whilst the player runs through it. If you cut vertical slits in the banner in the centre, it creates a weak spot where it will break and look best when run through. There are instructions and images for how to cut these in the FAQ section below.
On a windy day, cut smaller vertical slits in the Footy Banner so if the wind catches it, it doesn't rip too soon! This is why we do not pre-cut them, and also so you can get photographs with your intact banner when it looks at it's best.
Tip: Some players choose to only cut one weak spot in their banner so it can be saved and displayed later by taping it back together on the back.Pro Tip: Cut the weak spot to one side of the mascot or team logo so it stays intact as well!
Return and Refund Policy
As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.
Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
