Seymour Lions Banners - Celebrate Every Milestone in Style
Whether it's a milestone game, a grand final run, or a special club occasion, FootyBanners.com has the perfect custom banner for every Seymour Lions moment. Show your pride for the Lions with a professionally printed banner built to last.
Simple to Order
Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner styles. For player banners, simply provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Matt Smith, #43, 150 Games. All banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, built to handle a crisp Goulburn Valley winter morning on the boundary line without missing a beat.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Lions players reach the same milestone on the same day, our Two Player banner is the perfect solution. Provide both players' names and guernsey numbers, and we'll create one quality banner that honours them both.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Celebrate 3 to 6 players at once with our Team Banner option. Perfect for a top-line message like "Seymour Lions - Proud to Be a Lion" with a list of names underneath. A great way to bring the whole club together on one banner.
Wall Keepsake Banners
Available in Small, Medium, and Large, our Wall Keepsake Banners are printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks - ideal for hanging in the Lions clubrooms, a garage, or a games room. A lasting memento every player and supporter will treasure.
Grand Final Banners
Available in 4.5m and 5.5m sizes, Grand Final banners can be fully customised with your top and bottom text. Contact us for design advice and let's help the Seymour Football Netball Club run through something truly special on the big day.
About Seymour Football Netball Club
Origins and Founding
The Seymour Football Netball Club, nicknamed the Lions, was founded in 1880, making it one of country Victoria's oldest football institutions. The club first competed in the North East Football Association (NEFA) from 1891, reaching four consecutive grand finals between 1899 and 1904 and winning in 1899, 1902, 1904, 1910, and 1912. The club also claimed 12 premierships in the Waranga North East Football Association (WNEFA) between 1919 and 1975. Seymour has been competing in the Goulburn Valley Football League (GVFL) continuously since 1976.
Club History
The Lions have won seven GVFL premierships: 1976, 1981, 1982, 1991, 2005, 2006, and 2007. Their most dominant run came in the mid-2000s, when they claimed three consecutive flags from 2005 to 2007, before finishing runners-up in 2008. Saad Saad, a prolific GVFL goalkicker, represented the Lions across multiple seasons and kicked over 100 goals in a single season on multiple occasions. The club has maintained a strong position in the GVFL across its five decades in the competition, consistently competing in finals and developing local talent from the Seymour region. The netball arm operates alongside the football program, with the club offering a full sporting program for the town.
Home Ground
The Lions play at Kings Park in Seymour, a well-established sporting ground in the heart of this historic regional town. Kings Park has hosted GVFL football for decades and serves as the community hub for both the football and netball programs. The oval's location in central Seymour makes it easily accessible for the club's local supporter base along the Goulburn Valley corridor.
Community and Programs
The Seymour Football Netball Club fields senior men's and women's football teams, reserves, and netball teams across multiple grades through the GVFL competition. The club is a cornerstone of community life in Seymour, running volunteer-driven programs that support participation and youth development in the region. The club has maintained an unbroken presence in Seymour football since 1880, making it one of the enduring institutions of the Goulburn Valley area.
Seymour
Seymour is a regional town in the Mitchell Shire in Victoria, located approximately 104 kilometres north of Melbourne's CBD. With a population of 6,569 at the 2021 census, it serves as the main centre of the upper Goulburn Valley region. Seymour is historically significant as a railway town, with the Seymour railway station providing a major junction on the Melbourne to Sydney line. The town is known for its racecourse, the Puckapunyal Army Base to the north, and a strong community sporting culture centred on the Lions and the Seymour Racecourse.
The Lions compete in the Goulburn Valley Football League and call Kings Park, Seymour, home. More information is available at seymourlions.com.au and on Facebook.

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
