South Morang Lions Banners - Roar Loud at the Lion's Den

Whether it's a milestone game or a big finals moment, FootyBanners.com creates custom banners that celebrate the South Morang Lions with the pride the moment deserves. Make your champion's day one to remember.

Simple to Order

We offer Single Player, Two Player, Team, and Grand Final banner options. To personalise your order, provide the player's name, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Sam Hunter, #4, 100 Games. Printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, your banner is made to last through a cold Melbourne winter morning at The Lakes Reserves.

Two Players, One Banner

When two Lions reach the same milestone, a Two Player Banner is the ideal way to celebrate them both on one quality keepsake. Simply provide both names, guernsey numbers, and the shared milestone and we'll do the rest.

Team Banners for Group Celebrations

Feature 3 to 6 players on a Team Banner and give the whole squad a run-through they'll talk about for years. A top-line message like "Go Lions!" sends the team out with the energy and confidence they need.

Wall Keepsake Banners

Our Wall Keepsake Banners are available in Small, Medium, and Large, printed on thick recyclable paper with waterproof inks built to stand the test of time. A Lions keepsake banner looks great in the clubrooms, the garage, or the family games room.

Grand Final Banners

Go all in on grand final day with a 4.5m or 5.5m banner featuring fully customised top and bottom text for the South Morang Lions Football Netball Club. Contact us for personalised design advice.

About South Morang Lions Football Club

Origins and Founding

The South Morang Football Club was founded in 1954 and joined the competition then known as the Diamond Valley Football League, later to become the Northern Football Netball League (NFNL). Known as the Lions, the club is based in the rapidly growing northern suburb of South Morang and has developed from a small community club into a thriving football and netball organisation serving thousands of local families. In 2021 the senior and junior clubs officially merged to form the South Morang Football and Netball Club.

Club History

South Morang spent several decades building their playing list in the lower divisions of the NFNL before breaking through for their first Division 3 premiership in 2011. After returning to Division 3 in 2014, the Lions reached the finals in every subsequent season, eventually winning promotion. In September 2022, South Morang claimed the Division 3 premiership flag, and in 2024 the Lions won their first ever NFNL Division 2 premiership, defeating Diamond Creek by six points in a dramatic Grand Final at Preston City Oval. The club has now accumulated three NFNL premierships in club history and continues to grow into one of Melbourne's northern suburbs' most active sporting clubs.

Home Ground

The Lions play their home games at Mill Park Lakes Reserve in South Morang, a modern recreational facility that serves as the hub for both football and netball programs. The ground was developed alongside the suburb's rapid residential growth over recent decades.

Community and Programs

The South Morang Football and Netball Club fields multiple teams in the NFNL across senior, reserves, under-19s, and junior grades for both boys and girls, as well as netball competitions. The club is committed to junior development and community engagement, with training and match day programs running throughout the NFNL season at Mill Park Lakes Reserve.

South Morang

South Morang is a suburb in Melbourne's outer northern growth corridor, located approximately 30 kilometres north-east of the Melbourne CBD within the City of Whittlesea. The area has experienced rapid residential development since the 2000s, with the suburb's population growing significantly as the Mernda rail line extension (opened 2018) connected South Morang to the metropolitan network. The suburb is characterised by modern family homes, parks, and the scenic Mill Park Lakes.

The Lions compete in the Northern Football Netball League (NFNL) and call Mill Park Lakes Reserve, South Morang, home. Follow them on Facebook, and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

    • Premium Coated Paper (1.6 m high) printed with permanent, waterproof inks—won’t run or fade, even in wet weather.

    🔧 Preparation & Run-Through Setup - Expert instructions for break-through milestone banners.

    • Rigging Your Banner

      • Tape broomsticks or PVC pipe to each edge to keep the banner taut.

      • This creates a professional “run-through” presentation for game-day moments.

    • Creating the Break-Through Slits

      • Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.

      • Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.

    💡 Tips & Tricks

    • Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.

    • Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.

  • Return and Refund Policy

As each banner is custom made, once ordered, we cannot return them.

Please check the details you submit for printing carefully, as we will make the banner using the exact spelling and information you provide.
