Simple to Order
Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options. You'll need the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone - for example, Jackson Clarke, #8, 100 Games. Wy Yung Tigers banners are printed with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper, built for the brisk Gippsland winter at the Wy Yung ground.
Two Players, One Banner
When two Tigers players reach the same milestone in the same game, our Two Player banner gives them both a well-earned moment in the spotlight. Provide both players' names, guernsey numbers, and the shared milestone for a quality keepsake they'll both treasure.
Team Banners for Group Celebrations
Our Team Banner option caters for 3 to 6 players and is perfect for group milestones or a season worth celebrating together. A top-line message like "Wy Yung Tigers - Premiers" sets the perfect celebratory tone. Go the Tigers!

About Wy Yung Tigers Football Netball Club
Origins and Founding
The Wy Yung Football Netball Club - known as the Tigers - is one of the founding clubs of the East Gippsland Football League (EGFL), established around 1920 and joining the EGFL at its formation in 1974. The club is located in the township of Wy Yung - a name meaning "wild duck" in the local Indigenous language - on the Great Alpine Road just 5 kilometres west of Bairnsdale in the Shire of East Gippsland. The Tigers originally competed in the Bairnsdale District Football League (BDFL) before entering the EGFL as a foundation member in 1974, with the club earning promotion to the First Division in 1985.
Club History
The Wy Yung Tigers have won six EGFL premierships - in 1992, 2005, 2008, 2015, 2023, and 2025 - making them one of the most successful clubs in the competition's history. Their 1992 premiership season produced one of the league's all-time records, when forward Stephen Schaeche kicked 133 goals, the most in any EGFL season. The 2005 premiership was accompanied by a record team score of 53.25 (343) against Paynesville, the highest ever recorded in the EGFL. The 2023 and 2025 premierships confirm the Tigers' continuing competitiveness at the top level of East Gippsland football. Andrew Flannagan also led the league's goal kicking with 77 goals in the 2008 premiership season, underlining the club's long history of producing high-quality attacking players.
Home Ground
The Tigers play at Bullumwaal Road Recreation Reserve in Wy Yung. The ground is situated on the floodplain near the Mitchell River, giving it a distinctive rural Gippsland setting. It serves as home base for both the football and netball sides of the club during the winter season.
Community and Programs
The Wy Yung Football Netball Club fields senior football and netball teams competing in the East Gippsland Football Netball League (EGFNL), as well as junior competitions. The club is a central part of the Wy Yung and Bairnsdale district community, drawing players from the surrounding Gippsland region. The junior arm of the club provides pathways into senior competition through the EGFL junior competitions, ensuring a steady pipeline of local talent for the senior program.
Wy Yung
Wy Yung is a township in the Shire of East Gippsland in Victoria, located 5 kilometres west of Bairnsdale and 287 kilometres east of Melbourne on the Great Alpine Road. The town had a population of 1,940 at the 2021 census and sits on the Mitchell River floodplains near the Gippsland Lakes system. The name "Wy Yung" derives from the local Indigenous language meaning "wild duck", reflecting the area's rich wetland environment. White settlers moved to the district in the 1860s, and the town developed as a farming community through the 19th century before expanding as a residential suburb of Bairnsdale from the 1970s.
The Tigers compete in the East Gippsland Football Netball League and call Bullumwaal Road Recreation Reserve home. Follow the Tigers on Facebook and follow them on Instagram for news and match day updates.

Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
