Simple to Order
Choose from Single Player, Two Player, Team, or Grand Final banner options, each made with permanent inks on heavy-duty weatherproof paper. Provide the player's name, surname, guernsey number, and milestone and we will handle the rest. Perfect for a cold and blustery Geelong district afternoon at Victoria Park.

About Bannockburn Football and Netball Club
Origins and Founding
The Bannockburn Football and Netball Club, nicknamed the Tigers, has roots in the post-World War I era, when the club competed in the Leigh Cup competition until it disbanded in 1923. The club then entered the Mathison Cup in 1924 and subsequently the Elliott Cup, winning Mathison Cup premierships in 1925 and 1931. In 1953 the club moved to the Geelong and District Football League. A player shortage in 1956 forced a temporary merger with neighbouring club Lethbridge, which lasted three years before Lethbridge went it alone and eventually went into recess in 1962. The modern incarnation of the club dates from 1970, when the club reformed and joined what is now the Geelong and District Football League (Geelong DFL).
Club History
The Bannockburn Tigers have won eight premierships in total, with six coming in the Geelong and District Football League era: in 1990, 1997, 1998, 2003, 2019, and 2022. The 2019 flag was described as a major upset, with the Tigers defeating Thomson by 6 points to win their first premiership in 16 years despite being regarded as underdogs going into the match. The club has produced several players who reached VFL and AFL level, including James Worpel (Hawthorn), Peter Riccardi (Geelong), Leigh Harding (North Melbourne), and Alan Woodman (Geelong).
Home Ground
The Tigers are based at Moore Street in Bannockburn, which serves as the home ground for both the football and netball programs. The ground is located in the centre of the Bannockburn township and provides facilities for the club's senior and junior competition teams across both sports throughout the season.
Community and Programs
The Bannockburn Football and Netball Club operates both football and netball programs, reflecting the importance of dual-sport community clubs in regional Victoria. The club's Facebook page has more than 3,400 followers, demonstrating the depth of local support the Tigers enjoy in the Golden Plains Shire community. The club is a significant community institution in Bannockburn, which has experienced rapid population growth in recent years as Geelong's urban expansion has reached into the surrounding rural hinterland.
Bannockburn
Bannockburn is a town in the Golden Plains Shire, located approximately 21 kilometres north of Geelong and about 70 kilometres south-west of Melbourne. The 2021 census recorded a population of approximately 5,800 residents, with continued growth expected as residential development extends outward from Geelong. The town is the administrative centre of the Golden Plains Shire and is set on the Moorabool River plains, surrounded by farming country that has been part of the greater Geelong agricultural hinterland since European settlement in the mid-19th century.
The Tigers compete in the Geelong and District Football League and call Moore Street, Bannockburn home. Visit the club at bannockburnfnc.com.au and follow on Facebook.

-
Creating the Break-Through Slits
-
Vertical Slits: Cut small slits (20–30 cm long) in the centre—this engineered weak spot ensures a clean break when players burst through.
-
Wind-Proof Technique: On windy or rainy days, make multiple smaller slits so the banner doesn’t tear prematurely.
-
💡 Tips & Tricks
-
Single Weak Spot: Some players cut only one slit to save and display the torn banner—repair later with clear tape on the reverse.
-
Logo Preservation: Position your slit to one side of the mascot or logo so your club’s emblem stays intact and can be retained afterwards for display.
